Looking to climb the social ladder, burlesque dancer Ginger Rogers marries an Austrian baron. However, after the investigation of a radio reporter (Cary Grant) reveals the baron to be a Nazi, Rogers must escape with the aid of Grant. The two fall in love, but are besieged by trouble when they're not only hunted by the baron, but mistaken for Jews.
