American Hustle

Set in the 1970s, director/co-writer David O. Russell's smart, sharp-tongued comedy uses the facts of the ABSCAM scandal to spin the sort-of-true story of a New Jersey con man (Christian Bale) and his partner (Amy Adams), pressured to help an ambitious FBI agent (Bradley Cooper) bust a charismatic mayor (Jeremy Renner) about to engage in corruption.
