François Truffaut, scathing critique of Cahiers du Cinema, lives only for the Seventh Art. With his friends of the New Wave in struggle against traditional cinema, he quickly goes behind the camera to pursue a film career that filmmakers treated as novels. The music is a necessary component to give temporal and emotional marks. He quickly found in the person of Georges Delerue, a perfect musician to his universe. However, it will appeal to other composers as Bernard Herrmann, composer Alfred Hitchcock Truffaut admired. Antoine Duhamel, like Truffaut, a movie fan, regularly attending the French Cinematheque. Son of the writer Georges Duhamel, Antoine studied music with Olivier Messiaen and René Leibowitz. It consists of twelve-tone works and is interested in Jazz. The cinema approaches him by first asking him for commercials and short films. But Duhamel became known thanks to television with the music of two great operas, Le Chevalier de Maison Rouge and Belphegor.
