Should a gay couple be permitted to raise a child with Down syndrome? Set in 1979 and inspired by a true story, this involving drama charts the struggle of the flamboyant Rudy (Alan Cumming) and closeted Paul (Garret Dillahunt) to maintain custody of a boy (Isaac Leyva) abandoned by their drug-addicted neighbor, as authorities work to "prove" the pair shouldn't enjoy the same rights as a heterosexual couple. Frances Fisher, Gregg Henry co-star. 97 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack: English.
