This slam-bang action set opens with "Born to Defense" (1986). In an early role, Jet Li (who also directed) plays a WWII veteran who wants a peaceful civilian life, but must use his amazing Wu Shu fighting skills against American soldiers who are bullying his people. Li stars as fabled martial artist Fong Sai Yuk, tapped by his godfather to become the new head of the Red Flower Society trying to overthrow the corrupt Manchu emperor, in "The Legend of Fong Sai Yuk" (1993); with Adam Chang, Josephine Siao.
