Timely racial drama set in a West Indian community in Britain stars John Mills as a liberal-minded union leader for a furniture factory. He avoids a labor strike after successfully defending the promotion of a black worker, but must wrestle with his own prejudices when his daughter falls for a Jamaican teacher.
