Situated in the middle of the Mojave Desert, Las Vegas was founded just over 100 years ago. From it's humble beginnings as a small desert outpost, the city has grown to become the self-styled entertainment capital of the world, attracting over 20 million visitors a year from across the globe. Ian Wright spends a week in this non-stop party city. His journey begins exploring the fantastical hotels and casinos of 'The Strip'. He gains a bird's eye view of the city from atop the Stratosphere tower and takes his chances on the world's highest thrill ride before undertaking some alternative sightseeing at the city's famous wedding chapels. Ian gets up close and personal with a performing Bengal tiger, enjoys the kitsch of Liberace, and even gets a lesson in the fine art of pole dancing. Taking a break from the whirlwind excesses of the city, Ian travels to the Nevada Test Site where the atomic bomb was detonated, and hikes into the Grand Canyon for stunning views of this natural wonder.
