First, when a bandit he put in jail escapes and goes in search of a hidden fortune in stolen gold, determined lawman Ken Maynard comes out of retirement to stop his foe once and for all, in "Lightning Strikes West" (1940). In one of his best roles, Roy Rogers stars in the thoroughly enjoyable Western bioflick "Young Buffalo Bill" (1940). Songs include "Blow, Breeze, Blow." "The Gay Amigo" (1949) finds Duncan Renaldo's Cisco Kid and Leo Carrillo's Pancho targeted as outlaws, with the cavalry closing in fast. AKA: "The Daring Rogue." And, while trying to evade the law, the James brothers hide out in a small town in Mississippi where Jesse manages to get involved with four different gals, in "Jesse James' Women" (1954). Donald "Red" Barry, Jack Buetel and Lita Baron star. 4 1/4 hrs. total. Standard; Soundtrack: English.
