Calculus essentially takes the fundamentals of algebra and extends them to include rates of change between quantities. The concepts are taught entirely through step-by-step example problems of increasing difficulty. It works by introducing each new concept in an easy to understand way and using example problems that are worked out step-by-step and line-by-line to completion. This lesson teaches students the powerful technique of integration known as integration by substitution. The student is taught how to choose the proper substitution to make in the integral, set up the transformed integral accordingly, and carry out the integration to arrive at the answer. Many problems are worked to reinforce this concept. Teachers User Instruction & Resource Guide - Includes Recommended books & Calculus Websites.
