As a musician, I take great interest in the studies showing that children who learn to play a musical instrument gain cognitive advantages. Their reading abilities are enhanced and they do better at math and science. My objective in having made this DVD is to introduce babies to the sounds of the orchestra. What better way to do that than to have orchestral instruments play babies' first songs, and youngsters' favorites - nursery rhymes! It's my hope that as children grow familiar with orchestral instruments, they will be inclined to learn to play them. Deborah and I wanted to make nursery rhyme videos that baby and Mom would both enjoy! 'Leslie Pearl's arrangements and production are spot-on and the illustrations by Deborah Gaffaney are splendid and reminiscent of 'Yellow Submarine.' Kids will love it, I did!"
