A gripping drama set amid the strife-torn landscape of Northern Ireland, "A Prayer for the Dying" (1987) features Mickey Rourke as an IRA assassin looking to put his violent past behind him, Alan Bates as the London crime boss with one last job for Rourke, and Bob Hoskins as a priest who witnesses the hit.
