In this wonderful biodrama, Richard Todd portrays Peter Marshall, the Scottish immigrant who entered the clergy and became U.S. Senate Chaplain in 1946 and the unofficial "conscience" of Washington, D.C. The film, based on the book by Marshall's widow Catherine, traces his moving journey from his early days in seminary to his untimely death from a heart attack at the age of 46.
