Movie fans can be grateful that Hungarian-born soldier and bacteriologist Pal Fejos (aka Paul Fejos) settled into a director's chair to deliver this part-silent, part-sound ode to Coney Island on a busy Fourth of July. In the film--which boasts creative color tinting, special effects, and a very mobile camera--two lonely people meet inside the amusement park only to experience acute anxiety after they are sep arated. Glenn Tryon, Barbara Kent star. 69 min. Also includes the bonus Fejos film "The Last Performance" (1927), with Conrad Veidt and Mary Philbin; and a reconstruction of the previously incomplete sound version of his lavish backstage saga "Broadway" (1928), with Tryon and Evelyn Brent.
