It's personification at its finest in this truly odd but engaging film from writer/director Quentin Dupieux. An abandoned rubber tire, known as Robert, in the desert suddenly springs to life and realizes that he has telepathic powers that can obliterate anything in his path. He then begins to terrorize a desolate town, concentrating specifically on a sultry and mysterious young woman in a grim life-and-death battle. Roxane Mesquida, Stephen Spinella, Jack Plotnick, and Wings Hauser star. 85 min.
