Dead Men Tell (1941)/Charlie Chan In Rio (1941)
First, Charlie Chan (Sidney Toler) finds adventure on the high seas in "Dead Men Tell." Chan enlists the aid of his number two son, Jimmy (Victor Sen Yung), to get to the bottom of a mystery concerning the death of an elderly woman who was supposedly haunted by the ghost of an ancient pirate ancestor for a hidden map while on a ship chartered for a treasure hunt. Sheila Ryan and Robert Weldon co-star. Next, "Charlie Chan in Rio" has Charlie (Toler) and number two son Jimmy (Yung) jaunting off to Brazil to locate a nightclub singer suspected of killing her lover, only to find her murdered as well.
