Poetic Spanish drama from writer/director Carlos Saura examines the legacy of fascism while telling the intimate story of a young girl (Ana Torrent) who loses both parents at an early age. When fully grown, Ana (Geraldine Chaplin) stays with her siblings at an aunt's home, and though discouraged from dwelling on her parents' deaths, cannot help but grapple with her feelings of anger, longing, and loss.
