A Close Call For Boston Blackie (1946)
Horatio "Boston Blackie" Black (Chester Morris) returns in this fun entry in the film series based on Jack Boyle's mystery stories. This time, Blackie is at the center of a complex plot involving an old flame (Lynn Merrick), a baby that may or not have been kidnapped, extortion, and (as usual) a crime he didn't commit. Now, Blackie and his pal "The Runt" (George E. Stone) must stay one step ahead of Inspector Farraday (Richard Lane) while they sort the whole mess out. Frank Sully also stars. 61 min. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono.
