Alan Ladd plays a tough, fists-a-flying man who sets out to find a doctor who can help his mute son, in "The Proud Rebel" (1958). Olivia de Havilland, David Ladd also star. "Pioneer Woman" (1972) is an authentically re-created drama of homesteaders in the Wyoming Territory of the 1860s, as seen through the eyes of the women who fought to keep their families and their land. Joanna Pettet, William Shatner, David Janssen, and Helen Hunt (in her film debut) star. AKA: "Pioneers." After their parents die en route from Missouri to Oregon in the mid-1800s, seven children are determined to complete the 2,000-mile trek themselves, in "Seven Alone" (1974).
