Alan Ladd plays a tough, fists-a-flying man who sets out to find a doctor who can help his mute son, in "The Proud Rebel" (1958). Olivia de Havilland, David Ladd also star. "Pioneer Woman" (1972) is an authentically re-created drama of homesteaders in the Wyoming Territory of the 1860s, as seen through the eyes of the women who fought to keep their families and their land.
