After introducing his theme song in a film earlier that year, Bob Hope reteamed with co-star Shirley Ross for the breezy romantic romp "Thanks For The Memory" (1938), playing an author who turns "househusband" to write his novel while wife Ross goes to work. With Charles Butterworth, Otto Kruger. Bob solidified his "wisecracking coward" persona in the haunted house comedy "The Cat And The Canary" (1939), with Paulette Goddard playing the heiress that Hope falls for and must protect from the spooky goings-on. John Beal, Gale Sondergaard also star. And stockbroker/expert liar Bob must go 24 hours telling "Nothing But The Truth" (1941) in order to win a bet. With Goddard, Edward Arnold, Willie Best. Three-disc set also includes "The Ghost Breakers," "Road To Morocco," and "The Paleface." 8 1/2 hrs. total.
