Martial arts star Donnie Yen essays the role of the man who mentored Bruce Lee in this crackling (if adventurously fictionalized) screen biopic of Yip Man. The film follows the exploits of the world's first exponent of Wing Chun, at first reluctant to use his skills in actual combat, but pushed to the limit when a violent rival begins taking down every local grandmaster in sight.
