First, celebrating 75 years of the Arena di Verona Opera Festival, renowned tenor Jose Carreras is joined by an array of guest stars for "Jose Carreras Collection: La Grande Notte A Verona" (1988), performing arias from Bellini, Donizetti, Mascagni, Rossini, Verdi, and more. Next, just months after he had undergone bone marrow transplants to fight leukemia, Carreras delivered the "miracle" show "Jose Carreras Collection: The Vienna Comeback" (1988). Then, "Montserrat Caballe and Jose Carreras in Moscow" (1989) spotlights the works of Puccini, Verdi, Bellini, and others. Finally, "Jose Carreras In Salzburg" (1989) features the world-renowned tenor at the Great Festival House in Salzburg, where he sings works by Scarlatti, Tosti, Massenet, and others. 7 2/3 hrs. total on four discs.
