After losing his teaching job, aspiring writer Louis Ives (Paul Dano) moves to Manhattan, where he rents a room in an apartment owned by failed playwright Henry Harrison (Kevin Kline). When he learns that his eccentric new roommate earns a living by escorting wealthy widows around town, Louis allows Henry to teach him the art of being an "extra man." Katie Holmes, John C. Reilly co-star in this offbeat comedy based on the novel by Jonathan Ames. 108 min.
