With innovative visual flair, Gance tells the deceptively simple tale of a railroad engineer (Severin-Mars) who saves a girl's life after a train wreck and adopts her, only to fall in love with her years later and face his own son as a rival for her affections. Ivy Close, Gabriel de Gravone co-star. 4 1/2 hrs. total on two discs. Standard; Soundtrack: music score. Silent with music score.
