Go "Beneath The Planet Of The Apes" (1970) with astronaut James Franciscus, who comes to the simian-ruled world in search of his missing comrades and encounters the apes, as well as a race of mutant humans living underground. With Linda Harrison, Kim Hunter, and Charlton Heston. Chimps Roddy McDowall and Hunter flee through time to 20th-century Los Angeles, only to become fugitives when they reveal Earth's ultimate fate, in "Escape From The Planet Of The Apes" (1971); with Bradford Dillman, Sal Mineo, and Ricardo Montalban. It's apes versus mankind for control of the planet, as super-intelligent chimp Caesar (McDowall) leads his enslaved primate brethren in rebellion, in "Conquest Of The Planet Of The Apes" (1972). And the final entry in the original simian saga, "Battle For The Planet Of The Apes" (1973), finds Caesar's (McDowall) struggle to build a new civilization tested by old human enemies and foes within his own society. Claude Akins, Severn Darden, Paul Williams co-star. Six-disc set also includes "Planet Of The Apes" (1968) and the documentary "Behind The Planet Of The Apes." 8 hrs. total.
