From Guy Maddin ("Tales from the Gimli Hospital"), Winnipeg's answer to David Lynch, comes this surreal fable about the repressed inhabitants of a small Alpine town who hide their violent, incestuous and disturbing tendencies while living in fear of an avalanche burying them. To tell this eerie tale, Maddin uses such silent movie motifs as title cards and tinting. 96 min.
