Following the Civil War, the cash-strapped state of Texas sells land to wealthy Northerner Ray Teal. When some Texan ranchers protest the deal and begin squatting, peacemaker Dennis Morgan is sent in to handle the conflict--falling in love with Teal's daughter along the way.
