Rock Hudson is headstrong family patriarch "Bick" Benedict, Elizabeth Taylor is his wife Leslie, and James Dean (in his final film) is ranch hand-turned-oil-tycoon Jett Rink, who secretly pines for Leslie while locked in an ongoing rivalry with Bick.
