When her lover is freed, his discovery of her "betrayal" leads to tragedy. With Gustavo Serena, Carlo Benetti. Then, watch a lovingly rendered study of the life and career of Bertini, who became one of Italy's most-admired silent film stars, retired after marrying into nobility, then returned to the screen in 1977 in Bertolucci's "1900."
