Campy double bill of Sixties drive-in faves opens with "Wild in the Streets," in which an attempt to cash in on the youth culture by lowering the voting age to 14 leads to the election of rock star Chris Jones as president. Before long, everyone over 35 is sent to prison camps and force-fed LSD. Shelley Winters, Diane Varsi, Hal Holbrook, and Richard Pryor as "Stanley X" also star. Next, the release of an experimental nerve gas kills everyone on Earth over 25...but will the surviving young people create a new and better society, or fall into the same traps as their predecessors? Roger Corman's final directorial effort for A.I.P., "Gas-s-s-s" features an eclectic cast that includes Robert Corff, Bud Cort, Elaine Giftos, Ben Vereen, Cindy Williams, and Talia Shire (billed as Tally Coppola). 175 min. total.
