First, "The Dawn Patrol" (1938) offers richly drawn portrayals by Errol Flynn and David Niven as aces in the British Air Corps during World War I. Basil Rathbone co-stars. Next, in "Dive Bomber" (1941), armed forces surgeon Flynn goes through the rigors of pilot training in order to better understand the problems faced by high-altitude combat fliers. Director Michael Curtiz's war-themed drama co-stars Ralph Bellamy, Fred MacMurray. Then, the brawling biodrama "Gentleman Jim" (1942) looks at the life of turn-of-the-20th-century boxing champ Jim Corbett, with Flynn in the title role. Alexis Smith, Alan Hale, and Ward Bond as John L. Sullivan co-star. Flynn swashes, buckles, and seduces his way across Europe as in the epic costume tale "Adventures Of Don Juan" (1948). From swordfights to romantic trysts, this colorful film is without equal. Co-stars Viveca Lindfors, Ann Rutherford, and Hale.
