On a remote Samoan island, an American painter (Mia Farrow) falls for a young native chief (Dayton Ka'ne), much to the consternation of her father (Jason Robards), the local governor. But disapproval becomes the least of the lovers' worries when a deadly storm ravages the island. Max Von Sydow, Trevor Howard, Timothy Bottoms also star. 120 min.
