Bored Austrian countess Kay Francis is out shopping for baubles when she gets caught up in a brazen daylight "Jewel Robbery" (1932) perpetrated by gentleman bandit William Powell, and soon gets caught up in his roguish charm as well. Helen Vinson, Henry Kolker co-star. Next, Powell is the Lower East Side "Lawyer Man" (1932) who impresses a big Manhattan firm enough to be tendered a partnership, and finds trouble coming with the corner office. Joan Blondell, Allen Jenkins co-star. Magazine publisher Francis grants an assistant's position to handsome huckster David Manners, and the gossip piles up alongside the paperwork, in "Man Wanted" (1932). Andy Devine, Edward Van Sloan co-star. Lastly, Midwestern gal Loretta Young comes to NYC for her music career, and must choose between playboy Manners, producer Louis Calhern, and doctor George Brent, in "They Call It Sin" (1932). 4 1/2 hrs total on four discs.
