Directed by Vincente Minnelli, this charming musical comedy that echoes "Faust" stars Fred Astaire as a washed-up movie star hoping to return to the limelight as the lead in a new Broadway show. While dealing with difficult co-star Cyd Charisse, Astaire finds his comeback threatened when flamboyant director Jack Buchanan throws the production into turmoil.
