Based on the second entry in George MacDonald Fraser's series of Harry Flashman novels, this spirited, swashbuckling comedy stars Malcolm McDowell as the 19th-century rapscallion. Flashman's desire to penetrate the upper echelon of European society catches the attention of a pair of scheming politicos (Oliver Reed and Alan Bates) with an ill-conceived plot to have him pose as a Prussian nobleman so he can wed a beautiful duchess (Britt Ekland).
