Zero Patience (1993)
At once campily outrageous and bitterly sardonic, writer/director John Greyson's "movie musical about AIDS" features 19th-century British explorer Sir Richard Burton, alive and well in modern-day Toronto, preparing a museum exhibit on AIDS and "Patient Zero," the Canadian airline worker alleged to have brought the virus to North America. Bathhouses become the setting for hilarious (and graphic) musical numbers dealing with gay life, love and loss in the '90s. John Robinson, Normand Fauteux star. 100 min. Soundtrack: English; music video; bonus short "The AIDS epidemic" (1987).
