After being imprisoned for the accidental murder of a classmate, Jewish student Jakub is released and sent to live in the Warsaw Ghetto at the outbreak of World War II. Finding his new home as confining as the jail, Jakub escapes and becomes ostracized for his religious beliefs as he lives in constant fear of being captured.
