A deposed monarch, played by Chaplin, finds the Big Apple very unfriendly. Co-stars Maxine Audley, Dawn Addams, Jerry Desmonde. Then, Chaplin wrote and directed this melodrama of a country French girl whose search for love leads to heartbreak. Edna Purviance and Adolphe Menjou star. 178 min. total.
