The collaboration of composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Italian librettist Lorenzo Da Ponte resulted in three of music's most beloved operas. Innovative director Peter Sellars moves each work to a different period of 20th-century America in this collection of provocative performances. A conniving valet is heading to the altar in "Le Nozze de Figaro," starring Sanford Sylvan, Jeanne Ommerle, and Susan Larson; Eugene Perry plays the titular lothario in "Don Giovanni," with Herbert Perry and Dominique Labelle; and the fidelity of women--and the mistrust of men--are the themes of "Cosi Fan Tutte," starring Larson, Janice Felty, and Frank Kelley. 9 1/2 hrs. total on six discs.
