Popular Broadway singer Marilyn Miller plays the title role in this film version of the Jerome Kern/Clifford Grey stage musical, her first of only three screen features. Plucky orphan Sally grows up to become a cafe waitress who dreams of and achieves stardom as a singer in a Ziegfeld show. Alexander Gray co-stars as Miller's love interest, and Joe E. Brown is her co-worker, an exiled European prince. Songs include "Wild Rose," "Look for the Silver Lining." 101 min. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono.
