After his wife and daughter abandon him, talented surgeon Rafal (Jerzy Binczycki) sinks into despondency and drunkenness. Assaulted after a heavy bout of drinking, Rafal loses his memory and wanders the Polish countryside, settling in as a mill worker in a small town. He acquires a reputation as a famous "quack" after healing his employer's son, beginning a chain of events that will transform the doctor's life. Anna Dymna, Andrzej Kopiczynski also star. 132 min.
