Upon inheriting a large brewery in Poland, 18-year-old Zypcio (Michal Lewandowski) finds his idealism challenged by the seduction of a gold-digging princess and the lustful advances of a deformed monk. Taking place against the fictitious backdrop of a Chinese invasion of Eastern Europe, director Wiktor Grodecki's provocative film is based on the novel by Stanislaw Ignacy Witkiewicz. Cezary Pazura and Katarzyna Gniewkowska also star. 128 min. Soundtrack: Polish; Subtitles: English. In Polish with English subtitles.
