This thriller based on a novel by Chinese author Jia Mai deals with espionage during the Japanese invasion of China prior to World War II. After a Japanese-controlled puppet government is set up in China, the Japanese officials running it begin to get killed by underground Chinese rebels. A Japanese officer narrows the suspects down and secludes them for interrogation where a dangerous cat-and-mouse game ensues. Huang Xiao Ming, Li Bing Bing, and Zhou Xun star. 118 min.
