Live Footage + Music Videos = Family Fun! Two of a Kind is all about interaction and audience participation, and now you can bring the fun into your own living room. Two of a Kind's new release Sing Me Your Story - The DVD features 10 live performances with a full band as well as 5 music videos. David and Jenny Heitler-Klevans have been performing and recording together as Two of a Kind for over twenty years. Their energetic, participatory music helps audiences of all ages feel that they can create music and that they can make a difference in the world. Their first full-length video, Sing Me Your Story - The DVD is released January 15, 2013. Sing Me Your Story - The DVD is a companion to Two of a Kind's 2012 CD release, Sing Me Your Story, which has won a Parents' Choice Award and Creative Child's CD of the Year Award, and is on the ballot for the 55th Grammy Awards. The majority of songs on the DVD come from this CD, along with a few older favorites from Two of a Kind's 7 previous award-winning recordings. The live concert selections were filmed at an album-release concert on February 4, 2012 at The Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville, PA. David & Jenny were joined on stage by a wonderful group of musicians, including Chico Huff on bass, Grant MacAvoy on drums, Hope Wesley Harrison on vocals and percussion, and their twin teenage songs Ari (French horn and vocals) and Jason (trombone and vocals). The responsive family audience sang along to "Hello 'Round the World", "One World, Many Stories" and "Family Harmony", and got up and danced to "Let's Go to the Zoo", "Imagination" and "The Up & Down Day". Interspersed between the live performances are 5 music videos, 4 of which were directed by Rodney Whittenberg of MelodyVision. One of these videos is "The World is Not Your Garbage Can", in which the jazzy song about littering is acted out by students from the Friends School, Haverford, along with cameos from clutter organizer Peter Walsh and Kids Corner DJ Kathy O'Connell. David C. Perry directed and animated the video for Jenny's haunting hip-hop adventure "The Mysterious Drawer". The animation incorporates artwork by kids, which is particularly appropriate since this song was inspired by an idea from Jacob (11) and Carina (8) Rosenberg, winners in Two of a Kind's "song idea contest", and many of the lyrics were also contributed by kids. Two of a Kind's eight recordings have won a total of fourteen Parents' Choice, Children's Music Web, Creative Child and Kids Radio Mania awards. In addition, David & Jenny's songs have been winners in the International Songwriting Competition and the John Lennon Songwriting Contest. Publishers' Weekly has called Two of a Kind "a one-of-a-kind find."
