First, "Todo El Poder" finds a Mexico City documentary filmmaker constantly harassed and robbed by criminal gangs who ply their trade with impunity. Taking matters into his own hands after his car is stolen, he finds corruption within the police and the local government. Director Fernando Sariñana's acerbic contemporary crime drama stars Demián Bichir and Luis Felipe Tovar. Next, the scathing satire "La Ley De Herodes" skewers the Mexican political system with its story of an unassuming janitor who is elected in 1949 to replace the crooked, recently assassinated mayor of a small desert town. Initially promising to restore order, the inexperienced upstart quickly falls prey to the same corruption that cost his predecessor his life.
