This double feature of director Douglas Sirk films leads off with the intriguing, romantic period drama "A Scandal in Paris," about the real-life exploits of 19th-century criminal-turned-detective François Eugene Vidocq. George Sanders stars as Vidocq, who conned his way into the office of Paris police chief as part of an elaborate scheme, until one official's daughter (Signe Hasso) convinces him to go straight. Carole Landis, Akim Tamiroff also star. Then, after her friend falls victim to a serial killer prowling the streets of London, an American showgirl (Lucille Ball) agrees to work with a Scotland Yard inspector (Charles Coburn) and serve as a decoy to trap the murderer.
