2018-2019 CFP Goodyear Cotton Bowl

The second-ranked Clemson Tigers (14-0) relied on it's air attack to upend #3 Notre Dame 30-3 in the 2018 Cotton Bowl at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Tigers' first-year quarterback Trevor Lawrence threw for 327 yards and three touchdowns. Receiver Justyn Ross, a fellow freshman, had a season-best six catches on eight targets for 147 yards and two touchdowns. In it's first appearance in the College Football Playoff, the Irish (12-1) averaged just 3.6 yards per play against the Tigers' defensive front. Notre Dame quarterback Ian Book was pressured on practically every play. Clemson defensive end Austin Bryant had four solo tackles, including two two sacks, en route to earning Most Outstanding Defensive Player honors. Following his team's win, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said, "I want to congratulate Notre Dame on a phenomenal year. They had a great year and a heck of a football team." This was the first time in 83 Cotton Bowls that both teams entered the game with unbeaten and untied records.
