Based on George S. Kaufman’s 1926 stage play "The Butter and Egg Man," this rollicking musical comedy follows three sailors whose dreams of Broadway glory are unwisely hitched to the wagon of a show hustled by a slick promoter (Sam Levene). Their fortunes turn after they take the stage with the sparkling female lead, Penny Weston (Jane Powell). Sammy Fain/Sammy Cahn songs include "Face to Face," "Home Is Where the Heart Is," "When It’s Love." With Gordon MacRae, Gene Nelson. 95 min. Standard; Soundtrack: English Dolby Digital mono.
