In late-'60s Paris, state executioner Louis Guilbeau (Claude Merlin) did his duty and carried out the sentence of Hélène Picard, a prostitute convicted of multiple hooker murders. However, as he embarks on an affair with Solange Lebas (Solange Pradel), the investigating cop on the Picard case, a new string of slayings bearing the same M.O. arises.
