In 1840s England, American sailor Adam Beecher (Beau Bridges) is wrongly convicted of murder and sentenced to 20 years in a hellish Australian penal colony. Beecher gets an unexpected chance at freedom when he’s paired up with a tough female inmate (Jane Merrow) for a special project that sees the unlikely couple given a patch of land to care for in an effort to tame the harsh wilderness of the Outback.
