While visiting Siam, Billy Batson is given super powers by a wizard named Shazam. Billy's powers will only last while a sacred idol called the Golden Scorpion is under threat. The idol contains energising lenses which have been removed and divided between several scientists. The evil villain the Scorpion is trying to collect the lenses in the hope he can use the power of the Golden Scorpion to rule the world. Billy as Captain Marvel sets out to prevent the evil Scorpion from achieving his aim.
